We hope you love your Stone & Stem flowers!
Follow the steps below to keep them happy…
-
Your flowers are...
grown organically, without chemicals, by us here in Hambledon, Hampshire. Because of this, they are more delicate, so please do not expect the same vase life of flowers you’d find in a supermarket (unlike ours, those flowers do have a lot of chemicals & preservatives on them!)
Flowers are not meant to last forever, but to us, that’s the beauty of them, and all the more reason to enjoy them as much as you possibly can!
-
Prepare your stems
Cut 2cm off the end of each stem at an angle (45 degrees), enabling each flower to have a good drink. When placing the flowers in the vase, ensure there are no leaves under the water line. If this occurs, remove the leaves as they will cause bacteria in the water.
-
A clean vase filled with water
Make sure you are using a clean vase to prevent any bacteria. Fill 2/3 of vase with fresh, clean water.
There’s no need to add flower food - just keep regularly changing your water to help your flowers to thrive. Change the water when it becomes discoloured/murky, and top it up when needed.
-
Placement
Place your vase away from direct sunlight or heat - avoid putting them anywhere near sunny windows or radiators!
It also helps to keep the flowers away from draughts and ripening fruit.
-
Adjust and Remove
Keep an eye on your bouquet and be sure to remove any wilting flowers to prevent from mould (Botrytis).
… and enjoy!
We hope you love your flowers, which have been created with love and care.
