If your bouquet is inside a bag with an aqua pack, remove this as soon as possible to avoid bacteria build up.

Cut 2cm off the end of each stem at an angle (45 degrees), enabling each flower to have a good drink. When placing the flowers in the vase, ensure there are no leaves under the water line. If this occurs, remove the leaves as they will cause bacteria in the water.

Make sure you are using a clean vase to prevent any bacteria. Fill 2/3 of vase with fresh, clean water.

Add flower food to help your flowers thrive. Keep regularly changing your water every few days, especially when it becomes discoloured/murky, and top it up when needed.

Place your vase away from direct sunlight or heat - avoid putting them anywhere near sunny windows or radiators!

It also helps to keep the flowers away from draughts and ripening fruit.

Keep an eye on your bouquet and be sure to remove any wilting flowers to prevent from mould (Botrytis).

Flowers are not meant to last forever, but to us, that’s the beauty of them, and all the more reason to enjoy them as much as you possibly can!
